7/25（木）、牧之原市の姉妹都市である米国ワシントン州ケルソー市から、2人の女子高生が牧之原市へ到着しました！
これは、コロナ禍を経て5年ぶりに牧之原市・ケルソー市の学生交換ホームステイ事業が再開されたことによります。
2人は市長への表敬訪問、静波海岸でのサーフィン体験、サーフスタジアム静波の見学、国際交流協会メンバーとのBBQ…と、早くも盛りだくさんで滞在を楽しんでいます。
約1週間、市内のホストファミリーのお宅に滞在し、帰国と同時に日本からも2名の学生がホームステイに出発します。
2人とも日本に興味津々です。市内で見かけたら、ぜひお気軽にお声がけください。
〈US students visit Makinohara〉
On July 25th, two highschool students arrived to Makinohara city for summer homestay exchange program between the city and Kelso, US!
The cities are in friendship relation for more than 30 years. The program had been canceled recent 5 years due to COVID-19, and restarted this year.
They made a courtesy call on city mayor, tried surfing at Shizunami beach, visited Surf stadium Shizunami, had BBQ with our members... enjoying the city a lot.
They are going to stay for one week, then go back to US at the same time with departure of two Japanese students from Makinohara.
We all hope the girls will have amazing memories in this city.
